A low-pressure system is centered about 1250 miles east of Barbados, and the National Hurricane Centre in Miami says that it could become a tropical depression within the next 24 hours. The system is moving west-northwest at 10 mph to 15 mph, and forecasat models predict it could make landfall somewhere in the central Caribbean early next week. Current wind speeds are near 30 mph.
